Applying Roots To The Blues Exercises
Bass Exercise #1: A Blues Shuffle with Root Notes
This is as basic as it gets with the blues. We're applying the root to each chord using the shuffle rhythm commonly found in the blues. You need to be able to execute this in any key with hardly any thought.
Bass Exercise #2: C Blues with Roots
In this C Blues you are again playing root notes. This blues has a straight 8th note feel meaning evenly spaced eighth note subdivisions. The rhythm used is called a Bossa Nova rhythm.
