StudyBass.com Recommendations

Supporting StudyBass.com

A number of you have expressed your appreciation for the site and asked how you might support StudyBass.com. In this section and throughout the site I'll make a number of recommendations of things I think will improve your bass playing, musical knowledge, and enjoyment of music.

At the same time, buying anything I recommend through the links on these pages will help fund StudyBass.com's growth. The site still has a long way to go. Later, I'll create some more ways for you to support the site so I can continue to post free bass lessons.

Thanks for your support,

Andrew Pouska

Recommended Bass-Related Products:

Required Essentials for Bass Students

These are things (like a tuner and metronome) I require all of my private students to get. You probably need them, too.

Bass Gear

These are some basses, amps, and accessories I often recommend to my beginner students. I have written a bunch of articles on buying and maintaining bass guitars on my other bass guitar resource site.

Software and Computer Stuff

The computer is an excellent practice tool.

Bass Books

Here you'll mostly find song books, biographies, and history books. I know you could probably find these bass tabs on the net, but it's nice to have the standard notation and have it all printed out. I'd recommend some instructional books, but I'm not a fan of any out there. I guess that's why I'm creating this site!

Bass Magazines

To stay in touch with the bass world, bass players, and gear, you might want to subscribe to some bass magazines. Reading bass and music magazines can help you pick up musician lingo and learn your instrument better. If you already subscribe, you can renew through these links, too.
