In this bass guitar buying guide I am going to assume you know nothing about bass guitar except that it is a musical instrument and you want to make an educated decision in buying one. As a full-time bass teacher for over 20 years now, I've seen, played and fixed many different bass guitars. I will do my best to explain all the features of bass guitars and why those features are, or are not, important.

While shopping for a bass guitar you might get confused with all the technical terms. Often times even the same manufacturer uses slightly different terms in each bass’s description. I’ll try to clear that up as well as all the hype and jargon.
